Isabella Chen's Monet's Garden (2024)

SGD 150.00

To mark the 150th anniversary of Impressionism, I wanted to create a piece that pays tribute to Monet in a unique way. I was inspired by the Monet exhibition at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, which recreated elements of his French garden within a setting filled with plants from all over the world. It was fascinating to see iconic features of the Giverny garden nestled among South American cacti and baobabs from Madagascar. This mix of landscapes influenced my painting, blending familiar floral scenes with a global touch. The loose strokes and soft colors echo Monet’s style, celebrating both nature and his artistic legacy.
