Dripping and flowing across as an expression of free, unrestrained energy. Alongside these watercolour movements, I use sewing elements—buttons and thread—woven through the work, which recalls vivid childhood memories of sitting beside my mother as she sewed.
The movement of colour mimics the flow of thread through fabric, each drip embodying a moment of gentle guidance as she taught me how to sew. The bright colours, interacting and forming new shades, capture the playfulness of those early days, while the buttons and threads add depth and nostalgia, making the memory tangible. Together, the colours and textures weave a visual story of both spontaneity and intention, a tribute to those formative moments. This work bridges motion and memory, capturing a timeless bond through colour and texture.
