Sherlee Choliluddin's Tua Pek Kong Temple, Penang, 2024

SGD 380.00

This is a 156-year-old Tua Pek Kong Temple is located within Georgetown UNESCO World Heritage Site. I joined the Asia Link Sketch Walk Penang this August and this was one of the sketching locations recommended by the organisers. It was a particularly hot and dry day, and we found a shaded location diagonally across the temple, settled in and started sketching. It took me a while to absorb the complexity of the roof angles, and after some raw sketches, I dived head long and started painting focusing on the energy of the place, letting the movement of the brush to lead me, rather than trying to capture the realism of the temple.

Medium: Watercolor on 300gsm 100% cotton paper

Size: 39.4cm x 36.7cm

Artwork includes frame

Shipping cost varies depends on location and is charged seperately.
